Robert, if he survives without getting shanked, will have to get pulled out of there. Though he clumsily occasionally tries to play his role, even that is based on his own assumptions of what inmates might think instead of reality. He communicates that he is not one of them with everything he does and says. Maybe they will try to insert him in another pod, but his reputation will quickly spread before he gets there. He strikes me as the type of guy who will go to social work school to help the inmates go straight and then gets taken hostage in a breakout attempt due to his lack of situational awareness.
