There were a lot of people who did not want Hoffa getting back into the union, including the Chicago Outfit, who were able to swindle millions from the Teamster Pension Fund to buy into the Vegas casinos and were still actively skimming millions out of them at the time Hoffa disappeared. The set up took place while Hoffa was in prison, and him getting back in would have threatened all the skims coming out of Vegas to the New York, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland and Kansas City mob organizations, among others. Even though Tony Pro and Buffalino may have set up the details, the job was a national hit. In 1975, the FBI was still doing everything they could do to hide the intelligence community involvement and use of organized crime shooters in the assassinations of the 60’s. I think they probably obstructed any real investigations and leaked fake stories to the press about Giant’s Stadium, just like they are doing now concerning Trump, elections, Jan.6 and other Psyops.
