It’s the ignorance of arrogance and being inside of the Keynesian bubble for so long. Captain Kangaroo is even dumber than mediocrities like Madeline Albright. When the gold- backed “bricx” is issued, need to figure out how to convert assets and in the meantime, buy more gold before the feds shut it down. It is a good idea to avoid pure bullion issues and buy coins with numismatic value, as that may be a loophole to exploit.

I’ve always found it difficult to tolerate people who are BOTH ignorant AND arrogant. They make trouble where there shouldn’t be any trouble. For too long far too many people in government, elected, selected and/or appointed, as well as those who follow them blindly, have caused the downfall of our country because of that vile combination. And I never did understand nor believe how any form of currency not backed by a precious metal could have value, much less sustain any value. The barter system is better than pretending currency that is in reality worthless has any tangible value. But, what do I know? I’m the village idiot these days. Still, unlike some, I do have the ability to think my way out of a paper bag.

Because I had to hire and fire people for many years, I developed a quadrant to evaluate people on an axis. The upper right was “Smart /Smart ( people with a solid knowledge base, but knowing what they don’t know and capable of learning fast. The lower right was “Stupid/Smart ( people with very little knowledge base who know their limitations and are willing to learn. The lower left was “Stupid/Stupid”, which speaks for itself, but have no knowledge base and arrogance, unable to learn. The upper left was the worst,
“Smart/Stupid” with an extensive education with arrogance and rigid belief systems, incapable of learning or adaptation. That group caused way more headaches. I always tried to have as many people on the right side of the graph as possible and that worked well. I have noticed over the last several decades that more and more people are willing to defer their freedom and common sense to “experts” who are mostly “Smart/Stupid” but popular or validated by the media. I chalk it up to the lack of morality and religious beliefs, and moral confusion in general.

Entertainment and a good sense of humor are almost impossible for people in the left quadrants. They take themselves very seriously and cannot have much fun. The Mickey category is probably off the graph, but it isn’t on the left side.

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve written it down in my notebook so I can remember it as I interact with people. I think I’m stupid/smart or at least hope I’m not on the left side anyways.
